I wasn’t feeling well that week and had to stay in bed at my apartment in Jerusalem. Being sick far from home felt lonely and hard. Then, a surprise arrived: fresh fruit and vegetable trays, with a personal note from my mom. It felt like a piece of home had reached me and it gave me comfort and strength.
Two days later, another knock at the door: cakes and chocolates, another lovely message from home. I felt so cared for, and it reminded me that even far away, my mom was thinking of me.
A mother’s heart wants to do everything for her child, especially when he’s unwell. But from thousands of miles away, how could she help?
She reached out to us, asking that we personally take care of him here in Israel, sending love and comfort on her behalf.
Her lovely message said it all:
“Oh wow this is truly beautiful!
When you’re not feeling well it helps to get some extra nurturing…or at least not to feel neglected but we felt so far away :)) BH he’s doing much better now, thank you very much! I’m sure it warmed his heart and the hearts of his dorm friends too! 💞
